Description
Tzivaeri is a famous Greek folk song, whose title means precious stone or treasure and refers to everything that in our life takes on the greatest and most authentic value. It derives from an ancient song in the genre Nisiotika, probably originating from the Greek islands of the Dodecanese, whose melody was well known to the Greek emigrants who sang it during the painful moment of detachment from their native land. The composer borrowed this splendid musical theme to express the nostalgia that takes hold of the heart of a man when he loses the affection of someone he considered a precious presence. The piece, of which there are many interpretations, is dedicated in particular to Amy and Tigra, who have left an unbridgeable void in the life of the author and his family.
