The importance of the muses in ancient mythology was paramount: they represented the supreme ideal of the arts, of which they were the protectors. Terpischori was one of the nine muses and she guarded dance, the first artistic expression of humankind. In the past, various composers have been inspired by this enchanting mythological character, among others Praetorius, Couperin, Handel, and even, more near to us, Frank Sinatra with the song ''Come Dance With Me''.
Influenced by various dances, rhythms, and melodies, and by the Mediterranean wind, sea, and scents, the author has dedicated this incredibly original and sparkling composition to the muse Terpsichori.
