Michele Napoli

Michele Napoli began studying clarinet with Maurizio Manago at a young age. In 2007, he graduated with a degree in clarinet performance from the Conservatory of Music “F. Cilea” of Reggio Calabria under the guidance of Antonello Timpani. In 2010, he earned a doctorate of second level in Musical Field/Clarinet from the same Conservatory of Music studying with Antonello Timpani and Giuseppe Currao. Thereafter, he further specialized with Calogero Palermo, Fabrizio Meloni, and Gabriele Mirabassi. He performed extensively as a soloist and with chamber ensembles and orchestras in France, Switzerland, Palestine, and Israel. He performed as first solo clarinet under the baton of Riccardo Muti in various events broadcasted by the Italian broadcasting company RAI 1, including the “Ravenna Festival” in 2008, the concerts “ Muti in Calabria” in 2012 and in 2014, and the concert “Music not only educates, it saves” held at Roccelletta di Borgia (Catanzaro). In 2008, he graduated with a degree in Instrumentation and Wind Band Conducting from the Conservatory of Music “S. Giacomantonio” of Cosenza studying with Angelo de Paola. He participated in various seminars and masterclasses in conducting and wind band composition held by with Daniele Carnevali, Lorenzo Pusceddu, Jacob de Haan, Angelo Bolciaghi, Jan Van der Roost, Ferrer Ferran, Hardy Martens, Antonia Sarcina, Angelo de Paola, Thomas Fraschillo, and Stefano Gatta. Since 2006, he has conducted the Youth Band of the Laboratory of Music of the Musical Association of Melicucco, with which he has won various awards and recognitions in national competitions. Currently, he teaches clarinet at the music laboratories of the Musical Association of Melicucco and the Association “P. Ragone Di Laureana” di Borrello, and he has taught clarinet in secondary music schools since 2007.
