Leonardo Rossi

Born in Bibbiena (Arezzo) in 1962, he studied composition at the “L. Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence and graduated in band instrumentation in 1987. In 1991 he graduated from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan in orchestra conducting. He has attended courses in orchestra conducting at the “O. Respighi” Academy in Rome and at the “Cittadella musicale” in Arezzo. He has conducted the “Orchestra dell’Angelicum” in Milan, the “Orchestra da Camera Aretina” and the “Orchestra da Camera Campigiana” (Florence) which he founded in 1992. He is composer and bandleader for a number of jazz ensembles. He conducts the “Brizzi Big Band”, the “Casentino Musica Orchestra” and the “Orchestra Concilium Musicalis”. He is also director of the school of music of the “Filarmonica Enea Brizzi” in Pratovecchio (Arezzo) and of the “Filarmonica di Soci” (Arezzo).
